Total System Upgrade

5/20/2019

Comments

This client had a worn out DE filter and pump. We installed a brand new Pentair cartridge filter, along with a Pentair Whisper Flo pump. We rebuilt and simplified the plumbing to give it all new life.

Out with the Old in with the new

5/11/2019

Comments

This system was in rough shape, bad sand, broken backwash valve, leaking filter. We went with a Pentair cartridge filter to improve the water flow rate, and elimante the need to backwash or change the sand in the filter.

Probably the biggest transformation I've ever done.

1/9/2019

Comments

This pool sat barely running for close to a year. After I drained it, I think this was worst case of algae I've ever seen. We got it all cleaned up, and re-did the entire equipment area. Now the pool, looks like a pool and not a swamp. Water is crystal clear, and waiting for lots of use this summer.

When's the last time you changed the Sand in Your pool Filter?

5/26/2018

Comments

Roughly this should be done every 4-5 years as the media breaks down making it non-effective no matter how much you backwash or put chemicals in. Doesn't take to many hot days in Phoenix for the pool filter not to keep up, and before you know it you have a green pool. We upgraded this customer to way more efficient cartridge filter, and cleaned up the hamster maze for piping.

Water Leaking from Under the Pump?

5/11/2018

Comments

This is a relatively cheap fix but if not addressed can turn into hundreds of dollars having to replace the motor. If you see water under the pump it is most likely a broken shaft seal. This separates the pump from the motor so water doesn't get in it. Wait to long to fix it, the motor will seize up. Here is what that looks like from inside.

Salt Cell Union Sprung a leak.

5/3/2018

Comments

I have seen this a lot. In my opinion I feel like when the salt cells get looped like this, the weight adds stress to the unions and they give out over time. Regardless, we fixed it!

Filter leak, New Filter

4/8/2018

Comments

The bottom of the filter tank was leaking. Unfortunately, the parts for these filters are really expensive. Also, they have high horsepower motor, and this size filter wasn't able to keep up. We upgraded them to a filter that fits the size of their motor, and the large size pool. We also removed the non-functioning delta UV to clean up the area. Also added an equipment pad since the concrete was completely cracked and not supporting the filter correctly. This pool will run very efficiently now.

Filteration can turn your pool green

4/8/2018

Comments

This client called us because she couldn't figure out why her pool has already turned green. Filters that aren't backwashed and cleaned routinly don't allow the pool to filter the water properly causing the pool to turn green quickly.

Salt Cell Union Crack

3/29/2018

Comments

In my opinion this is a really poor way to plumb this salt cell into the equipment. It is to heavy to support the weight. The union was cracked and pouring out water like a faucet. We did the best we could with this one, since there isn't any other options for relocating the salt cell with the way it was originally built.

Pool Pump upgrade

This pump is very old, and had several small leaks coming out of it, losing gallons of water each day it ran. Client decided to upgrade to something new, and more efficient.

Pool not priming

3/22/2018

Comments

This client hired us to figure out why his pump wouldn't not prime. Typically, this will happen only when there is a leak coming from the suction side (pool to the equipment). These inline canisters are notorious for cracking. We removed it, re-plumbed to the pump, and pool equipment works perfectly now.

Equipment Leaks

3/6/2018

Comments

This customer had a crack in the pump. When we got into the pump to replace it, we noticed their previous pool company had threaded the CVPC pipe down way to far into the pump causing it to crack from the pressure. Don't pay twice for something that should have been done right the first time. Always make sure who you hire are qualified.

Lots of trees around your pool?

2/2/2018

Comments

Tree's that drop lots of leaves in the pool can cause havoc inside your pool equipment. Pump impellers easily get clogged, and also inside filters. Take this one for example, the pump was only working at about 50%.

Leaking Pump?

7/23/2017

Comments

If you see water leaking under the pump this is the result of a bad shaft seal. This means water is getting into the motor which over time will seize it, and you will need to replace it. A less expensive fix when you see this happening is a simple seal replacement which could save you hundreds of dollars down the road.

Pool Motor Not Turning On or Loud?

9/25/2016

Comments

If your pool motor is humming loudly or humming and tripping the breaker, you might not need to buy a new motor. Customer was quoted by another company for a full motor replacement and install for over $400. I was able to replace her capacitor and get the pool equipment up and running for under $50.

Monsoon Dust Storms

8/21/2016

Comments

As you can see in these pictures dust storms can cause havoc on your pool. I would recommend if possible not vacuuming this into the filter if you have a cartridge filter. You will have to break a part the filter several times to get all this dirt out not to damage the cartridges inside. Hire us or someone who has a external pump to get rid of the dirt directly to waste. Also, you don't want to let it sit to long or the dirt will embed into the surface causing an unappealing look like the last picture.
